ACOTAR Books 6 and 7: Release Dates, Titles, Plot Setup, and Reading Order

Sarah J. Maas’s next two novels return readers to Prythian after A Court of Silver Flames. Bloomsbury has now listed both books by title, with A Court of Splintered Harmony scheduled for October 27, 2026, and A Court of Forgotten Melody scheduled for January 12, 2027.

The books form the next published stage of the A Court of Thorns and Roses series, which began with Feyre Archeron’s crossing from the human world into the faerie courts. The first five books move from Feyre’s survival story to a wider conflict involving court politics, ancient powers, romance, and the fragile alliances holding Prythian together.

The two new ACOTAR titles

BookTitleRelease datePublisher-listed format
ACOTAR 6A Court of Splintered HarmonyOctober 27, 2026Hardcover, 352 pages
ACOTAR 7A Court of Forgotten MelodyJanuary 12, 2027Hardcover, 896 pages

Bloomsbury describes A Court of Splintered Harmony as a story about a new threat from Koschei the Deathless, whose influence is spreading across the faerie territories. The publisher says forces connected to Koschei want to reclaim the human lands while Prythian is still recovering from the Hybern War.

The description also points to internal conflict. Recent betrayals and newly revealed truths have strained the Night Court’s ruling circle, making cooperation harder just as the external danger grows. The book’s central promise is captured in its publisher tagline: “What was broken will be remade.”

What Book 7 adds to the story

The second novel carries the title A Court of Forgotten Melody. Bloomsbury presents it as a larger, more expansive installment, with a listed hardcover length of 896 pages. Its description says traditional alliances are collapsing, the Night Court’s Inner Circle is dispersing, and the characters must search widely for any advantage against Koschei and his allies.

The publisher’s tagline for Book 7 is “What was lost will be reclaimed.” That wording suggests a story focused on recovery, buried history, damaged relationships, or forgotten sources of power. It does not, however, identify the main romantic pairing or confirm which character will lead the narrative.

Where to start before the new releases

Readers who want the complete story should follow publication order:

  1. A Court of Thorns and Roses
  2. A Court of Mist and Fury
  3. A Court of Wings and Ruin
  4. A Court of Frost and Starlight
  5. A Court of Silver Flames
  6. A Court of Splintered Harmony
  7. A Court of Forgotten Melody

The first three novels center primarily on Feyre, while A Court of Silver Flames shifts much of its attention to Nesta Archeron and Cassian. The official descriptions for Books 6 and 7 do not yet confirm whether the next arc will return to Feyre or follow another member of the ensemble.

That uncertainty is part of the setup. The confirmed material establishes the threat, the damaged political order, and the two release dates. The identities of the principal viewpoint characters and the meaning of the titles remain to be revealed.
